My name is Jalen (He/Him) and I do all types of art, but graphic design mostly.
How did you get into what you do creatively?
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I started heavy into graphic design around 14. I always loved art and computers so once I got introduced into Photoshop I was hooked.
What themes do you pursue in you work?
like to do a lot of projects centered around black women, especially rappers because I love rap. I'm actually working on one right now. One of my favorite things to do is make cover art for music so I'll try to make something more in direction with the song.
What memorable responses have you had to your work?
I remember a some years ago Paul George liked a portrait I did of him on IG. People you're a fan of liking your work is always cool. Also when any of my art gets a big reception when I post it is memorable for me personally.
What/who influences you?
Everything influences me. From everyday objects, to cars, nature, music, people, fashion, etc. It could really be anything, I try to incorporate it all. It's why I don't really have a specific overall style to my art. I like to play with all of the different ways you can say what you want to say.
What makes your work necessary (to you, to others, to the community)?
My work is necessary to me because of that process of getting my ideas out is so therapeutic. To be able to express myself artistically puts me in a zone and I may work on something and get lost in it for hours and it feels like minutes.
Where can we find you?
I'm currently switching platforms for my website, but @KNGSHxT on IG and Twitter.
